Still in Awe of What I Experienced in Salvador!
I was recently invited by the Escola Bahiana de Saúde Pública (Bahiana School of Public Health) to give a keynote talk during the 11th Human Development Forum — an event that brings together people of great sensitivity, dedication, and a shared commitment to transformation through education.
The theme of my talk was “The Flavor of Dreams – Purpose, Creation, and Transformation,” and it gave me the opportunity to share a meaningful part of my story — a professional and personal journey full of twists, restarts, and bold choices, which I’ve shaped step by step with courage, sensitivity, and strategic vision.
I am a chemical engineer with 27 years of experience, all dedicated to technical, regulatory, and strategic consulting for the food industry, with a special focus on the Brazilian cacao and chocolate sector. This field has taught me — and continues to teach me — the importance of combining science, technology, art, cultural identity, entrepreneurship, and responsibility to build solid, purpose-driven businesses.
A Talk from the Heart
During the talk, I didn’t just share data or professional milestones. I spoke of dreams and fears, of motherhood and entrepreneurship, of the projects that move me, of the results that bring me to tears, and of the human connections that keep me grounded.
I brought to the stage a real story, marked by continuous learning, innovation, creativity, sensitivity, science, gastronomy, boldness — and a whole lot of Brazilian cacao and chocolate — ingredients that nourish both my professional path and my life.
Each time I give a talk, I reaffirm my commitment to an authentic, heartfelt, and inspiring storytelling approach. I believe in the power of words to touch hearts, provoke reflection, and open new paths. And that is exactly what I felt there — standing in front of an audience of nearly 300 people, whose attentive eyes, generous smiles, and quiet tears revealed a deeply affectionate and sincere kind of listening.
A School that Breathes Purpose
Bahiana is more than an educational institution — it is a living organism that pulses with values such as service, entrepreneurship, communication, learning, and teaching, expressing all of them with strong social and environmental responsibility.
Being among people who live these values with such coherence was both an honor and an emotional experience for me.
I’m deeply grateful to Luiza Ribeiro, Director of Artistic and Cultural Development at Bahiana, for her trust and warm invitation. And to Dr. Maria Luiza Soliani, the university's rector, who welcomed me so generously and introduced me to the essence of this remarkable school — one that trains professionals with sparkling eyes and a genuine desire to change the world.
A Nourished Soul
I return home with my soul nourished. To be heard, embraced, and welcomed with such generosity is a rare — and powerful — gift.
More than that: to be able to inspire others to taste the flavors of their own dreams, and to show — through real-life examples — that it’s possible to build a meaningful path with purpose, planning, and authenticity, is a mission that deeply honors me.
Thank you, @escolabahiana, for so much!
I can’t wait to come back soon!
